Industrial Parts Washers for Food and Beverage Equipment Maintenance

Food and beverage processing facilities maintain their equipment to a different standard — sanitary, verifiable, and documented. When bearings, housings, conveyor components, pump internals, and processing equipment parts come in for cleaning and maintenance, the washer itself must not introduce contamination. Magido's AISI 304 stainless steel aqueous parts washers are a natural fit for food and beverage maintenance environments.

Stainless Steel Construction: The Non-Negotiable

In food and beverage environments, equipment material matters. Carbon steel, painted surfaces, and galvanized components are sources of contamination and corrosion in high-moisture, high-temperature cleaning environments. Magido builds every parts washer — cabinet, tank, frame, internal components — from AISI 304 stainless steel.

This is the same grade of stainless used in food processing equipment itself. There is no painted surface to chip into a wash basin, no carbon steel to rust into the cleaning solution, and no aluminum to corrode when alkaline detergents are used. The washer is as clean as the parts coming out of it.

Cleaning Food-Grade Lubricants and Process Residues

Food processing equipment is lubricated with food-grade oils and greases that present their own cleaning challenges. These lubricants are formulated to be safe for incidental food contact — but they are still oils and greases that foul bearings, housings, and sealing surfaces and must be removed before inspection and reassembly.

Aqueous detergents designed for food-grade lubricant removal, heated to 140–167°F, effectively clean these residues from bearing housings, gearboxes, conveyor components, and pump internals. Magido's heated wash tanks reach and hold operating temperature consistently, ensuring detergent chemistry performs as formulated.

Handling the Part Variety in Food Plant Maintenance

Food and beverage maintenance shops clean everything from small bearings and sprockets to large pump housings, agitator shafts, and conveyor sections. This variety demands flexibility.

Magido's front-load spray cabinets handle large, heavy components — conveyor frames, agitator housings, pump casings — with load capacities up to 1,760 lbs. Top-load cabinets handle medium components efficiently. Rotary drum washers clean bulk quantities of small parts like fasteners, sprocket teeth, and bearing components continuously. Immersion washers address components with complex internal geometry where spray pressure is insufficient.

Aqueous Chemistry and Waste Management

Solvent-based cleaning is particularly problematic in food and beverage facilities — both from a worker safety standpoint and from the regulatory perspective of chemical use near food production areas. Aqueous parts washers eliminate this concern entirely.

Waste water from Magido's aqueous washers consists of water, detergent, and the oils and residues removed from parts. This stream is straightforwardly managed — oil skimming, pH adjustment if required, and disposal through an approved route. No hazardous waste manifests, no solvent storage, no fire risk near production areas.
